Bricei​da Barcenas 

Ms. Barcenas is the Director at Brilliance Academy where she articulates, exemplifies and institutionalizes the mission and vision of the School. Her notable leadership and business management skills are not only electrifying, but significantly add value to the ongoing success of Brilliance Academy.

 

Her tenure in administration is inclusive of more than 15 years of experience in interacting with ESE students, to include her son who was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), as well as Behavioral management at the early age of four. As a mother of a disabled child with a career in Education, Ms. Barcenas has mastered the art in accelerating learning and socio-emotional skills among ESE students and others alike..

Ms. Barcenas is no stranger to working hard. She has a real passion and commitment to serving the staff, faculty, students and parents- which is noticeable almost immediately when seeing her in action. Ms. Barcenas is indeed a trailblazer; a mover and shaker; and one of the catalysts to the School’s operations.

“It is my belief, that every student is equal and will be treated with respect and consideration. I strongly believe that education needs to be enjoyable for learning to occur. I intend to make your child's year rewarding and instill a desire to achieve all their goals.”

Parent’s Right to Know Staff Qualifications Brilliance Academy teachers possess one of the following qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s Degree or higher in any subject.

2. Three or more years of K-12 grade teaching experience.

3. Special skills, knowledge, or expertise that qualifies them to provideinstruction in K-12th grade subjects.

Rights of Students with Disabilities Brilliance Academy adheres to all rights of students with disabilities. BA acknowledges that pursuant to 1002.421(1)(j), Florida Statutes, parentally placedprivate school students with disabilities do not have individual rights to receive some orall of the special education and related services that said students would receive ifenrolled in a public school under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA),as amended.
